Source 1 Cabinets Launches an Expedition to the Garage
Nashville, TN --
December 12, 2007
After 10 years and 10,000 kitchen and bathroom installations in Middle
Tennessee, Source 1 Cabinets is responding to a homeowner movement toward the garage
as the new livable space in the home.
The company is announcing the
opening of
Slide-Lok Garage Interiors and Storage Cabinets.
Like many businesses, this one
began with a simple observation: “We noticed how many homeowners who were updating
their kitchens wanted to try putting the old cabinets in their garage,” says business
owner Kendall Morton. “They wanted some way to make their garage a livable space
– not just a place to park the cars and the junk.”
They found a company filling
that need in
Arizona
and decided to pay them a visit. “Not only did we find a great, affordable, non-epoxy
garage flooring product but plywood cabinets, wall storage units, and overhead storage
units designed for the garage as well as closet systems for the home’s interior.”
“The very first installation
we did in Nashville was requested before Thanksgiving so this very lovely couple could serve part of
their large gathering in the garage,” says co-owner Claire Bradford. “We were all amazed at the transformation and they did serve Thanksgiving dinner
to part of their guests in their new space.”
“I have a small collection of
old vehicles – a ’49 Chevy like the one I learned to drive and a ’56 Ford like the
first car I owned – that sort of thing.
My hobby has caused me to observe that a growing number of guys out there are no
longer content with the garage and its usual condition as their hang out.
They want a cleanable, uncluttered space for their “stuff” and for just hanging
out in, says Morton.
“The contrast of “before and
after” with this product is impossible to ignore.
It is no surprise that the garage is the fasting growing segment of home
improvement in the country. But we’re
also busy offering it to builders and to consumers who are building a new residence,”
says Morton. “We believe it won’t be
long before improved garages will be the standard, not an upgrade.”
“We started with one big advantage. We’re already in such a similar business
we were able to use our resources and talent for this new business right away. Our installers have been around the block. They know what they’re doing and can make
quick work of the cabinets and the flooring,” says Morton.
Underlining a serious
commitment to the enterprise, Source 1’s
10,000 square foot expansion includes showroom, new offices, warehouse and workspaces
uniquely designed to help homeowners, home remodelers, new home builders, and designers
select and visually model garage furnishings and makeovers.
